We host tours on the second Monday of each month at 3pm, except when school is closed for holiday. Please check the tour page for details about our next tour. We do not invite visitors during the school day in order to prevent disturbances for our students.
We have two adults in each class, one teacher and one Para-educator. Therapists also work in the classroom with their clients at times. We also have volunteers that work with children during the day.
Our ratio of typical to children with special needs runs about 60:40. The ratio in some classes varies.
We do not have visits during the school day. Our children are sensitive to outside influences and at this time we do not have people come into classes while in session. We do hold tours once a month on the second Monday of each month at 3:00 pm.
Our school and preschool operate from the hours of 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.
Our school year is about 215 days long. We have 7 weeks off throughout the year. Two in December, one in the Spring, one in Summer and three in August to end the year.
The tuition is $15,000 annually for elementary and middle school classroom tuition; therapy is billed at $65.00 per half hour unit.
Tuition for our high school program is $17,000 annually.
For the Preschool classroom tuition rates are as follows: Full-time (M-F): $1,075.00, Part-time (M, W, F): $715.00, Part-time (T, TH): $525.00.
We do offer some financial aid. One must go through an application process apart from the regular application.
Our kindergarten through 8th grade program is fully accredited by The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Our Preschool program is licensed by the State of California. And our therapy programs (SLP, OT, PT, Vocational Education and Assistive Technology Lab) are certified by the State of California with Non Public Agency status.
We are a private school.
Costs for therapy are the responsibility of the parent or guardian of the students. While we do not work directly with insurance companies, we accept payment not only from insurance companies but from public school districts as well.
Therapy is billed separately from tuition.
The application deadline for fall admission is February 1st. We accept applications throughout the year and occasionally have vacancies in the middle of the school year which we move to fill quickly.
There is no wait list; we do not take applicants in chronological order. If there is an opening, we consider all our applicants for the opening, which means that someone who has been on file for a year and someone who has been on file for a few months would be given equal chance. We are looking to make the best fit possible for our class and so we consider everyone.
Children in preschool have the opportunity to rest; they are not made to sleep. However there is a quiet time each day for the children to rest if they want.
