“Animal Assisted Happiness (AAH) enriches the lives of children experiencing health or family challenges. As a non-profit organization, we provide your children and family animal interaction services to bring moments of happiness and a smile into their daily lives and challenges” (www.animalassistedhappiness.org).
Our collaboration with Animal Assisted Happiness allows the volunteers to bring some of their animals to the school. Different classes schedule times to visit the animals that are brought on campus every month. Most students enjoy time petting, walking, feeding, and holding animals like rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, and chickens. The kids often experience a sense of calm and a promotion of responsibility when they get to spend time with the animals.
