Mission Statement
The mission of the Hope Technology Preschool Program is to provide a safe, healthy, culturally and developmentally appropriate, inclusive program for each child. Working in partnership with parents, guardians, and the community, our Preschool will celebrate each child's uniqueness while assisting them with their linguistic, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Our program will also encourage parents and families to take an active role as the child's primary teacher, advocate and informer in the lifelong journey of developing a love of learning.
Goals
We believe that Hope Technology Preschool Program in collaboration with the parent/guardian, school and community members, can and will provide and maintain a safe, healthy, high quality environment, which is crucial to the development and later success of children. Some of our goals are:
· To ensure that all children are viewed as active learners and adults are viewed as facilitators of learning.
· To provide opportunities for parents/guardians to be actively involved in the education of their child.
· To maintain facilities, equipment and materials that will maximize positive learning experiences.
· To provide a smooth transition into the formal school setting as our children enter Kindergarten.
Methods
Hope Technology Preschool Program will enhance children's lives by providing them with diverse preschool experiences and developmentally appropriate educational opportunities that attend to the development of each child by focusing on each child's unique strengths and working to help them overcome their weaknesses. Children with special needs are welcome, and are fully included in the regular program. Specialized services, such as speech t herapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy are available upon request. If needed, these services are established in a parent-friendly meeting to establish the goals and needs of each child. Teachers and therapists are in constant collaboration to ensure that the child's needs are met on a consistent basis.
We believe that the best way for any child to learn is through play. It is through play activities and opportunities that the children will develop the ability to establish friendships, resolve conflicts, and use verbal as well as nonverbal language to communicate. Children will learn "academic" subjects such as language arts, science, and math in addition to art, music, physical education, health, and safety in this play-based environment.
Teachers will plan activities with regard to each child's development, based on formal and informal assessments, observations, health information, and parent involvement. We believe that the children will leave our Preschool Program enriched with confidence in their abilities, an excitement about learning, and readiness skills for Kindergarten.
