Margo Colvin is the mother of Jackson, who is in Kindergarten at HTS. Jackson started attending the HTS pre-school program three years ago.
Opportunities to Grow
"For two years, I've been apprehensive about sending Jackson to Kindergarten. I thought I would get a call all the time because of his behavior. What's amazing about HTS is that people there don't see problems as problems, but as opportunities to grow, change and learn. The only calls I get are when he's made progress."
A Collaborative Approach
"Because HTS uses a collaborative approach, not one teacher gets burned out. There is a good support system. Jackson's teacher Jynette is great. She loves to learn, and sees everything as an opportunity to grow personally."
A Great Support System
"As a parent of a special-needs child, there's a lot to figure out. With such a great support system at HTS, I feel like a huge emotional burden is lifted off. I always thought that school would be a nightmare because of his special-needs, but the experience has been incredible. We have a two-hour commute everyday to and from HTS, and Jackson has never once complained that he's not wanted to go. All the time spent is well worth it. People love him there and are always looking for ways to accentuate his strengths."
