John and Cecilia Coyne are parents of Kayla, a typical 5th grader at HTS. Kayla has been attending HTS for the past six years.
Academic Excellence
"Kayla is thriving as a typical child [at HTS]. She benefits immeasurably from the small class sizes and low student to teacher ratios. This enables Kayla to receive lots of attention. As a result, she works at her own pace and can work above grade levels. That's something that doesn't happen at bigger schools that have to bring big classes along at the same pace."
Leadership Development & Empathy
"The second thing we love about the school is the chance she has to develop as a leader and empathy for all people. Getting to interact with her friends who have special needs in her class have taught her that everyone matters and that she can make a difference in the lives of others."
Character-Based Education
"Kayla often comes home from school and the first thing she wants to tell us is who she's helped that day. We see that attitude transcending the school environment, out into the community. She has an awareness of anyone who needs assistance, or is neglected, and is quick to help. She always sees the kid that nobody sees."
